SPANISH CITY: 1955

On the Figure of Eight

within sight of the sea

with the sun beating down

and the melting ice cream

she turned and she twisted

she thought  she could risk it

so she stood up and died

back in 1955

On the Figure of Eight

she yelled and she screamed

the kiss-me-quick hat

and the candyfloss dream

all the fun of the fair

and the roll of the sea

then she stood up and died

back in 1955

On the Figure of Eight

with her hair flowing free

she came for the sun

the sand  and the sea

she came for the smells

the sounds and the thrills

                                                                                                                                                                                                                       back in 1955

no one said it could kill
